<text>Author name disambiguation (AND) is a challenging task for scholars who
mine bibliographic information for scientific knowledge. A constructive
approach for resolving name ambiguity is to use computer algorithms to
identify author names. Some algorithm-based disambiguation methods have
been developed by computer and data scientists. Among them, supervised
machine learning has been stated to produce decent to very accurate
disambiguation results. This paper presents a combination of principal
component analysis (PCA) as a feature reduction and deep neural networks
(DNNs), as a supervised algorithm for classifying AND problems. The raw

data is grouped into four classes, i.e., synonyms, homonyms, homonyms-
synonyms, and non-homonyms-synonyms classification. We have taken into

account several hyperparameters tuning, such as learning rate, batch size,
number of the neuron and hidden units, and analyzed their impact on the
accuracy of results. To the best of our knowledge, there are no previous studies
with such a scheme. The proposed DNNs are validated with other ML
techniques such as Naïve Bayes, random forest (RF), and support vector
machine (SVM) to produce a good classifier. By exploring the result in all
data, our proposed DNNs classifier has an outperformed other ML technique,
with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, which is 99.98%, 97.98%,
97.86%, and 99.99%, respectively. In the future, this approach can be easily
extended to any dataset and any bibliographic records provider.</text>

<text>The deep learning approach of supervised recurrent network classifiers model,
i.e., recurrent neural networks (RNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM), and
gated recurrent units (GRUs) are used in this study. The unidirectional and
bidirectional for each cardiac disorder (CDs) class is also compared.
Comparing both phases is needed to figure out the optimum phase and the best
model performance for ECG using the Physionet dataset to classify five classes
of CDs with 15 leads ECG signals. The result shows that the bidirectional
RNNs method produces better results than the unidirectional method. In
contrast to RNNs, the unidirectional LSTM and GRU outperformed the
bidirectional phase. The best recurrent network classifier performance is
unidirectional GRU with average accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision,
and F1-score of 98.50%, 95.54%, 98.42%, 89.93%, 92.31%, respectively.
Overall, deep learning is a promising improved method for ECG classification.</text>

<text>Considerations around environmental pollution and green energy usage have
led to environmentally-friendly machines being used in many industrial
applications. Permanent magnet (PM) machines are the best solution to
substitute the pollutant diesel-powered machines. In such machines, rotor
position detection is crucial for safe startup operating. Meanwhile, encoderless
controllers have become more reliable, over the years, in supporting the
operation of PM machines. The key point, presented by this paper, is to
introduce an improved positioning model to detect the rotor-position of
interior permanent magnet synchronous machine at halt condition. To verify
this objective, only two short duration pulses were injected into the stator
windings. Then, the corresponding terminal voltage and current responses
were measured and employed to create two memory address lines. Thereby,
the memory cells, which contain the rotor position information, could be
accessed. This detection model makes a significant improvement in rotor
positioning detection of high resolution (1 degree) which represents lower
value than most verified results in literature. The model was simulated and
tested in a MATLAB/Simulink environment and shows an approximate
accuracy 95%. Additionally, the statistical analysis was also employed to
support the work outcomes.</text>

optimization problem. The problem involves assigning the participants to
defense sessions, composing the relevant committees, satisfying the
constraints, and optimizing the objectives. This study defines the problem
formulation that applies to Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) and use
the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to solve it. As a
demonstration of concept and viability, the proposed method is implemented
in a web-based platform using Python and Flask. The implementation is tested
and evaluated using real-world instances. The results show that the fastest
timetable generation is 0.18 seconds, and the slowest is 21.88 minutes for 25
students and 18 department members, without any violation of the hard
constraints. The overall score of the EUCS evaluation for the application is 4.3
out of 6.</text>

<text>Next generation broadband access networks are gaining more interests from
many key players in this field. The demands for longer reach and higher
bandwidth are among the driving factors for such network as it can reach wider
area up to 100 km, even beyond; has enhanced bandwidth capacity and
transmission speed, but with low cost and energy consumption. One promising
candidate is long reach passive optical network, a simplified network with
reduced number of network elements, equipment interfaces, and even nodes;
which leads to a significant reduction in the network’s capital expenditure and
operational expenditure. Outcome of an extended reach often results in
increased propagation delay of dynamic bandwidth allocation messages
exchange between the optical line terminals and optical network units, leading
to the degradations of bandwidth allocation and quality of service support.
Therefore, an effective bandwidth allocation algorithm with appropriate
service interval setup for a long reach network is proposed to ensure the delay
is maintained under ITU-T G.987.1 standard requirement. An existing
algorithm is improved in terms of service interval so that it can perform well
beyond 100 km. Findings show that the improved algorithm can reduce the
mean delay of high priority traffic classes for distance up to 140 km.</text>

<text>In this paper, we develop a new extended state variable observer based load
frequency controller (LFC) scheme for three-area interconnected power
systems. The extended state observerbased load frequency controllers are
developed which utilize disturbance estimation techniques. The propose
control approach assures that the fluctuating things of the load frequencies
reaches to a safer range and the load frequencies can also be made at a very
minimal not to have an effect on power quality and power flow in multi-area
interconnected power system. The results of the simulations using
MATLAB/SIMULINK done did not only address that the proposed newly
control method works effectively but also change powerfully the parameter
variations of the interconnected areas of the power system. Especially, it
works very well to limit disturbances impact on interconnected areas in the
system. Therefore, the performance of interconnected power system under
different multi-conditions is simulated with the new control method to
demonstrate the feasibility of the system.</text>

high classification performance of 99.22%, where fingerprint images are
successfully classified into their two categories. Moreover, comparisons with
state-of-art approaches are provided.</text>

wireless local area network (WLAN) testbed. The detected idle time analysed
in this work in two different scenarios, then a statistical approach performed
to find the best fits. The finding shows the generalised Pareto (GP) distribution
as the best fit with DKS=0.266 compared to other distribution fits.</text>

<text>One of the most challenging works on compact antenna design is to maintain
the flexibility orientation. This paper demonstrates a coplanar waveguide
(CPW) fed monopole antenna with rubber substrate at 2.45 GHz center
frequency for ISM band application. The proposed antenna attained the
realized gain at 4.06 dB with the radiation efficiency around 90% at peak value
and the bandwidth of 541.5 MHz. The antenna was designed using the CPW
structure. CST microwave studio applied to design the proposed antenna
simulation. The main purposed of this study is to improve the antenna
performances specially the bandwidth, gain, and radiation efficiency.
Moreover, another aim of that antenna design is to reduce the antenna size and
thickness upon the existing related design with rubber substrate.</text>

identical rectangular resonators and is implemented on microstrip technology
for Wi-Fi and bluetoothapplications. To reduce the size of the filter, the
defected microstrip structure (DMS) technique is proposed. This technique
consists of etching slots in the rectangular resonator, which results in a
change in the line properties and increase of the effective inductance and
capacitance. This feature is used for miniaturization. The designed filter has a
compact size (6.82x8.3) mm2 with a low insertion loss of -0.1 dB and a good
return loss of -36 dB. The simulation results are realized using the (computer
simulation technology) CST Microwave software.</text>
