<text>High reliance on wireless network connectivity makes the vehicular ad hoc
network (VANET) vulnerable to several kinds of cyber security threats.
Malicious vehicles accessing the network can lead to hazardous situation by
disseminating misleading information or data in the network or by
performing cyber-attacks. It is a requirement that the information must be
originated from the authentic and authorized vehicle and confidentiality must
be maintained. In these circumstances, to protect the network from malicious
vehicles, reputation system based on beta probability distribution with trust
management model has been proposed to differentiate trustworthy vehicles
from malicious vehicles. The trust model is based on adaptive neuro fuzzy
inference system (ANFIS) which takes trust metrics as input to evaluate the
trustworthiness of the vehicles. The simulation platform for the model is in
MATLAB. Simulation results show that the vehicles need at least 80%
trustworthiness to be considered as a trusted vehicle in the network.</text>

<text>Software design is one of the very important phases of the software
engineering. The costs of software can be minimized if improvements or
corrections made during this stage. Several of the current computer aided
software engineering (CASE) tools like enterprise architect (EA) v12 do not
have the capability to improve the design. This work aims to develop an
algorithm that helps the software engineers evaluating the design quality
utilizing one of the object-oriented (OO) design models namely quality
metrics for object-oriented design (QMOOD) which represents as
hierarchical model that describes the relationship between quality attributes
such as reusability, extendibility and properties of the design of OO design.
This algorithm describesed how the assessment of the extendibility/
extensibility using the software metrics has been done and the impact of the
involved metrics in the extendibility value. Results obtained demonstrate the
effect of OO design metrics such as inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction
and coupling in quality characteristics like extensibility. The results show
that lower values of abstraction and coupling, obtain higher value of
extendibility which means the class diagram is ready to accept additional
improvements. The proposed algorithm has been tested on two different
systems (test cases) that vary in their class diagrams, functionalities, and
complexities.</text>

<text>Apriori is one technique of data mining association rules that aims to extract
correlations between sets of items in the transaction database. The main
problem with the Apriori algorithm is the process of scanning databases
repeatedly to generate itemset candidates. This research examines the
combination of pruning by using the trieapproach and multi-thread
implementation in three algorithms to obtain frequent itemset. Trie is a data
structure in the form of an ordered tree to store a set of strings where every
node in the tree contains the same prefix. The use of a full combination trie
(different from frequent pattern (FP) tree using links) allows the
implementation of arrays and the hash calculation to achieve the addressing
of itemset combination. In this research, the measure to get the address is
called Hash-node calculation used to update support value. For these three
alternatives, run time processing is analyzed based on the number of itemset
combinations and transaction data at a certain minimum support value. The
experimental results show that an algorithm thatexploits resource capabilities
by applying multi-threadperforms almost seven times betterthanan algorithm
implemented in single-thread in calculating hash-node. The fastest run time
of the multi-thread approach is 43 minutes with 150-itemset combinations on
100,000 transaction data.</text>

Simulink results have shown a significant increase in system performance in

best bit error rate (BER) of 3.3e-05. Constellation and eye pattern diagrams
have supported the BER.</text>

<text>Market segmentation in higher education institutions is still rarely applied
although it can assist in defining the right strategies and actions for the
targeted market. The problem that often arises in market segmentation is how
to exploit the preferences of students as customers. To overcome this, the
combination of hybrid clustering method with multiple criteria will be
applied to the case of the market segmentation for students in higher
education institutions. The integration of geographic, demographic,
psychographic, and behavioral criteria from students is used to get more
insightful information about student preference. Data result of the integration
will be processed using hybrid clustering using K-means and self organizing
map (SOM) algorithm. The hybrid clustering conducted to get promising
clustering result along with the visualization of segmentation. This study

successfully produces five student segments. It received 1,386 as the Davies-
Bouldin index (DBI) value and 2,752 as the quantization error (QE) value

which indicates a good clustering result for market segmentation. In addition,
the visualization of the clustering result can be seen in a hexagonal map.</text>

<text>Telemedicine applications allow the patient and doctor to communicate with
each other through network services. Several medical image compression
techniques have been suggested by researchers in the past years. This review
paper offers a comparison of the algorithms and the performance by
analysing three factors that influence the choice of compression algorithm,
which are image quality, compression ratio, and compression speed. The
results of previous research have shown that there is a need for effective
algorithms for medical imaging without data loss, which is why the lossless
compression process is used to compress medical records. Lossless
compression, however, has minimal compression ratio efficiency. The way to
get the optimum compression ratio is by segmentation of the image into
region of interest (ROI) and non-ROI zones, where the power and time
needed can be minimised due to the smaller scale. Recently, several
researchers have been attempting to create hybrid compression algorithms by
integrating different compression techniques to increase the efficiency of
compression algorithms.</text>

Pisarenko, linear prediction, maximum entropies, and min-norm, root-
MUSIC, and estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance

necessary to observe six target swithout interference for several DOA
estimation methods. After comparing and analyzing all the algorithms, it has
been shown that the music algorithm is the best algorithm that reduces
interference and detects the desired sources. MATLAB R2019b was used in
the simulation process.</text>

<text>Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread throughout the world. The
detection of this disease is usually carried out using the reverse transcriptase
polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) swab test. However, limited resources
became an obstacle to carrying out the massive test. To solve this problem,
computerized tomography (CT) scan images are used as one of the solutions
to detect the sufferer. This technique has been used by researchers but mostly
using classifiers that required high resources, such as convolutional neural
network (CNN). In this study, we proposed a way to classify the CT scan
images by using the more efficient classifier, k-nearest neighbors (KNN), for
images that are processed using a combination of these feature extraction
methods, Haralick, histogram, and local binary pattern (LBP). Genetic
algorithm is also used for feature selection. The results showed that the
proposed method was able to improve KNN performance, with the best
accuracy of 93.30% for the combination of Haralick and local binary pattern
feature extraction, and the best area under the curve (AUC) for the
combination of Haralick, histogram, and local binary pattern with a value of
0.948. The best accuracy of our models also outperforms CNN by a 4.3%
margin.</text>

<text>Modern technology is essential for all healthy, economic, and educational
sectors. Using modern technology involves high-performance networks in
terms of quality of service (QoS) parameters such as delay, throughput,
bandwidth, and security. A campus network involves wire and the wireless
environment with and without virtual local area network (VLAN) technology
has been simulated using optimized network engineering tools (OPNET).
The simulation model includes four scenarios that involve heavy-loaded File
transfer protocol (FTP) and web browsing applications with two logical
groups of users. The simulation results show that the VLAN overcome LAN
networks in terms of bandwidth and security. This has been done by reducing
the throughput in both sending and receiving levels to the confidential
servers. The VLAN has also reduced the broadcast domain which results in a
high-power efficiency. Moreover, the VLAN network technology has been
proved to have lower values of delay in transferring files and packets than
LAN network technology. In addition, VLAN technology generally has been
decreased values of throughput regardless of the way of connection between
servers and workstations. This, in turn, allows taking advantage of wireless
connection features in terms of flexibility of installation and speed of
configuration.</text>

<text>Filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) modulation in the visible light
communication (VLC) system is one of the most promising modulation
systems in optical wireless communications (OWC), especially in 5G and 6G
future applications. FBMC has a wide bandwidth compared to other
modulation systems. One of the highest degree essential conditions for
utilising the signal in VLC is that the signal is real positive, the signal is
agreeable with intensity modulation/direct detection (IM/DD), where
Hermitian symmetry (H.S) is utilised to get a real signal (RE) and to be
unipolar direct current (DC)-bias is used. Here the challenge arises as this
method increases complicating, due to the modulation of the N number of
frequency symbols, these symbols need 2N inverse fast fourier transform
(IFFT) and fast fourier transform (FFT), in addition to energy consumption.
This research focused on the time domain and not the frequency domain by
using the traditional complex FBMC generation signal, and to obtain the RE
signal by placing the RE signal side by side with the imaginary signal (IMs)
in a row, and then using new Flip-FBMC technology, which saves more
energy. The proposed technologies provide approximately 57% of the
number of IFFT/FFT. The use of Flip-FBMC technology consumes less
energy than traditional technologies with better bit error rate (BER)
performance.</text>
