<text>The cloud computing environment faces several challenges as a federation of clouds, controlling the traffic flow, scalability, and balancing the load on virtual machines that are considered the most crucial issue due to their impact on the execution time, resource utilization, and cost. This paper is interested in some of the existing algorithms that distribute the workload evenly. These algorithms aim to avoid the blind assignment that often results in some over-loaded servers while another node might be under-loaded. In this work a combination of two inspired metaheuristic algorithms BAT and cuckoo search was proposed; the first algorithm can utilize fast exploration using global search, the latter algorithm can avoid trapping into BAT local optimum problem using levy flight with a far random walk. Additonaly, the proposed algorithm could be used to mitigate distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that aims to cause endless load on the servers and stop the service. Experimental results for five virtual machine (VM), ten VM, with the varying number of tasks showed that the proposed algorithm has better resource utilization and less makespan time in almost all the cases. </text>

<text>This paper proposes a study of an energy harvesting system for powering wireless sensor network (WSN) devices. The thermal energy harvesting system used is based on the thermal energy source between ambient air at the soil surface with five depth levels. Measurement was taken for 46 days in a garden area located in Melaka, Malaysia. A feasibility study of soil temperature measurement to obtain a temperature gradient can be used for harvesting by using thermoelectric generators (TEG) modules. Then, the efficiency of TEG with several different configurations based on temperature gradient data has been tested in the laboratory. The results revealed that the depth of soil 6 cm between sensors 1 and 3 will gave the best representation of level average temperature different around 1 °C. Based on the temperature gradient data, the combination of three TEG SP1848 in a series connection with DC-DC step-up circuit DC1664 will produce an
optimum voltage output of about 3 V. This output voltage is enough to
operate low power IoT device derived from thermal energy </text>

<text>In light of the advanced technological development in the world, this study aims to use alternative energy for generating electric energy at the lowest cost. Solar cells are devices that have special operating conditions. The most important of these conditions are the temperature of cells and the intensity of solar radiation. Sometimes the climate condition does not match the ideal conditions used for operating solar cells in many regions around the world. Although the Middle East and Iraq in particular, is considered one of the sunniest areas in the world, solar energy cannot be relied upon to generate electric energy effectively because of the problem of high temperature in solar cells in the summer as well as the problem of dust. In this paper, a simple and economical method was designed to overcome the main problems in the operation of solar cells represented by high temperature in solar cells as well as the problem of dust accumulated on the surface of solar cells which impedes the entry of sunlight into those cells. The method is conducted by immersing the solar cells in running water at a distance that should be close to the surface of the water.</text>

<text>Visually impaired people are facing many problems in their life. One of
these problems is how they can find the objects in their indoor environment. This research was presented to assists visually impaired people in finding the objects in office. Object detection is a method used to detect the objects in images and videos. Many algorithms used for object detection such as convolutional neural network (CNN) and you only look once (YOLO). The proposed method was YOLO which outperforms the other algorithms such as CNN. In CNN the algorithm splits the image into regions. These regions sequentially enters the neural network for object detection and recognition so CNN does not deal with all the regions at the same time but YOLO looks the entire image then it produces the bounding boxes with convolutional network and the probabilities of these boxes, this makes YOLO faster than other algorithms. Open source computer vision (OpenCV) used to capture frames by using camera. Then YOLO used to detect and recognize the
objects in each frame. Finally, the sound in Arabic language was generated to tell the visually impaired people about the objects. The proposed system can detect 6 objects and achieve an accuracy of 99%. </text>

<text>The history recorded moon as the most inspiring object in the sky, but it
combined with visibility issues to study the phases. This research paper
proposes a novel algorithm named Sunfa Ata Zuyan (SAZ), which is meant to extend the shape detection algorithms to aim for lunar phase deceleration and overcome the difficulties encountered by the previous methods to find the moon and determine its phase. The paper sets to investigate two aims. First, propose the add-on algorithm SAZ to determine the lunar phase's data faster. Secondly, evaluate the Raspberry Pi as the main CPU due to its compact size and power as the primary processor based on the idea of a portable designed system. Then to examine the ability of the SAZ algorithm, it's combined with famous algorithms like hue, saturation and value (HSV), Canny, erosion, shape detection, and binarization has been tested on both personal computers (PC) and Raspberry Pi with the same images being compared. The results show that SAZ will help the shape detection algorithm to find the object and disclose the moon phases. Furthermore, the Raspberry Pi, functioning as a CPU, can perform as a hand-to-hand system to determine the lunar phase as a compact portable remote sensing structure. </text>

<text>This study aims to design an optimal nano-dimensional channel of fin field effect transistor (FinFET) on the basis of electrical characteristics and constituent semiconductor materials (Si, GaAs, Ge, and InAs) to overcome issues regarding the shrinking of dimensions and ensure the best performance of FinFETs. This objective has been achieved by proposing a new scaling factor, K, to simultaneously shrink the physical scaling limits of channel dimensions for various FinFETs without degrading their performance. A simulation-based comprehensive comparative study depending on four variable parameters (length, width, oxide thickness of the channel, and scaling factor) was carried out. The influence of changing channel dimensions on the performance of each type of FinFET was evaluated according to four electrical characteristics: i) ON-state/OFF-state current (ION/IOFF) ratio, ii) subthreshold swing (SS), iii) threshold voltage, and iv) drain-induced barrier lowering. The well-known multi-gate field-effect transistor (MuGFET) simulation tool for nanoscale MuGFET structure was utilized to conduct experimental simulations under the considered conditions. The obtained simulation results showed that the optimal channel dimensions for the best performance of all considered FinFET types were achieved at a minimal scaling factor K=0.125 with 5 nm length, 2.5 nm width, and 0.625 nm oxide thickness of the channel. </text>

<text>E-learning allows the students to access, repeat and use the scientific
materials wherever and whenever the users want. Both academics and
learners are the leading and essential actors in the process of the learning process. Moreover, the acceptance of a technology is the positive react for users by using such technology. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, e-learning has become mandatory over the world, thus, there is a necessity to investigate the determinants of e-learning adoption in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Iraq. Consequently, this paper aims to investigate e-learning adoption and identify the determinants of e-learning in HEIs. An instrument was developed with eight dimensions based on technology organization and environmental (TOE) elements. The sample selection was of 580 students and 130 university lecturers who spread over several colleges. A clustering sampling method was used in the sampling selection process. Some hypotheses were proposed and tested via the paired T-test tool. To evaluate the relationship between the TOE variables and e-learning adoption, a regression analysis was carried out. The study findings classified into two categories, first, it helps to determine to what extent e-learning be
adopted. Second, it provides meaningful guidance for higher education
institutions that should follow as a pre-requested before adopting e-learning. </text>

<text>MQ-series gas sensors are frequently used in gas concentration sensing
owing to their high sensitivity and relatively cheap cost. Reportedly, both the sensor’s circuit sensitivity (S) and power dissipation (PS ) are functions of sensor circuit load resistance (RL ). However, there is no well-established standard method for determining RL value that can simultaneously yield maximum sensor circuit sensitivity (SM) and acceptable PS for a given value of gas concentration. To obtain optimum RL , the dependence of S and PS on RL for a given gas concentration was thoroughly investigated. The model equations for determining S, PS and RL at SM (RL,MAX) were derived and Q-6 gas sensor’s response to its associated gases was used for demonstrating the proposed method. Variations of both S and PS with respect to RL were investigated when each of the associated gases has concentration of 1000 ppm. The sensor circuit optimal RL must satisfy the dual conditions of (i) S=SM and (ii) PS < set threshold. Results obtained from the analysis revealed that the values of RL,MAX were 20, 24, 64, 120, and 152 kΩ for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), CH4, H2, alcohol and CO respectively, corresponding to sensor powers of 0.3125, 0.2589, 0.0977, 0.0521, and 0.0411 mW. </text>

<text>Using circular geometry has a great influence on many fields of science and engineering, one of which is antenna. Communication systems were oriented towards fifth generation (5G) because of large- bandwidth systems, compact requirements, high-data rates. In this research, a design and simulation are made to a microstrip circular patch antenna. The patch has two circles a compact structure of the first circle radius is 2.5 mm and second circle radius is 1 mm with thickness 0.35 mm. The proposed antenna has three resonant frequencies 41.08 GHz with a return loss of -12.4 dB, 47.4 at -18.86 dB and 54.4 at return loss -24.3 dB. The bandwidths are 150 MHz, 222 MHz and 219 MHz, the gains of three resonant frequencies are 6.16 dB, 9.89 dB and 5.54 dB, with efficiency of 98%. A technique of inset feed transmission line was utilized to match the fifty Ω microstrip feedline and the radiating patch. Based upon the proposed design, a Roger RT Duroid 5880 substrate that possesses loss tangent of 0.0009 with a height of 0.5 mm and a dielectric constant of 2.2 is employed. A computational process is conducted and analyzed by the use of computer simulation technology microwave studio. </text>

<text>The nodes of wireless sensor networks (WSN) are severely restricted in
terms of computing capabilities, limited communications, and limited power supplies, as it is difficult or impossible to replace or recharge the sensor battery. Consequently, the energy of nodes is one of the most important resources to consider when designing of WSNs. So, most of the routing protocols in WSNs are to assure the saving of energy as a significant aim for improvement. Nevertheless, just providing power is not sufficient to extend the lifetime of WSN. Where unbalance energy depletion in WSNs is a challenging issue often leading to splits the network and reduces its lifetime, also retrogression of its performance. This paper, therefore, uses a powerful routing protocol named spider monkey optimization routing protocol (SMORP) to generate an optimal data routing of the pathway for heterogeneous WSNs (HWSNs). SMORP, here, can compute the best way from a sensor to the sink through the cluster head, inside the intra-cluster, and the inter-cluster respectively. For this purpose and the organization of heterogeneous nodes, this paper uses the clustering partition. The simulation results revealed that SMORP significantly improves in terms of data latency
reduction, stabilizing depletion of energy, and maximizing the network
lifetime for HWSNs. </text>
