Penelitian diawali dengan membuat karakter fiktif untuk merepresentasikan pengguna melalui persona. Terdapat dua jenis persona yang didapatkan berdasarkan pengetahuan dunia kecantikan dan umur, yaitu persona ahli dan pemula. Peta retrospective user journey menjawab permasalahan pemenuhan keinginan pengguna.
