<text>This qualitative case study investigates the role of Duolingo in enhancing English language development among students at Horizon University, Indonesia. With mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) tools becoming increasingly important in language education, Duolingo has gained popularity for its gamified and accessible design. Despite widespread use globally, research on Duolingo's impact in non-English-speaking countries, specifically in Indonesia, is limited. This study examines how Indonesian students perceive and engage with Duolingo and investigates its influence on their language development, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and listening skills. Through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and observations, this research explores students’ motivations, challenges, and the app’s effectiveness in complementing traditional English language learning methods. Findings suggest that Duolingo significantly improves students' vocabulary and grammar acquisition, enhances engagement, and increases motivation. However, challenges remain in the development of speaking fluency, and students reported technical issues with the app. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating Duolingo into conventional language classrooms to maximize its potential in fostering well-rounded language skills.</text>
