<text>In this paper, a proposal is made for a cryptographic algorithm designed for passive ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification systems. The algorithm relies on the advanced encryption standard (AES) as its fundamental encryption technique, augmented by two supplementary steps: the initial step involves generating a random key and the second is the randomization of data, this introduces an extra level of security to encryption process against attacks. The developed architecture has been optimized to minimize hardware resource consumption with faster execution speed. The algorithm has been simulated, synthesized and implemented in an xtreme digital signal processing (DSP) starter kit equipped with xilinx’s spartan-3A DSP 1800A edition and it serves the purpose of encrypting and decrypting user data on a radio frequency identification (RFID) passive tag. The main objective is to make it difficult to break the algorithm because of its multiple steps. The experimental results showed that the speed, functionality and cost of encryption and decryption make this a perfectly practical solution, providing a satisfactory level of security for today’s communications systems, or other electronic data transfer processes where security is required.</text>

<text>The successful implementation of deep learning nets opens up possibilities for various applications in viticulture, including disease detection, plant health monitoring, and grapevine variety identification. With the progressive advancements in the domain of deep learning, further advancements and refinements in the models and datasets can be expected, potentially leading to even more accurate and efficient classification systems for grapevine leaves and beyond. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the potential of deep learning for agricultural applications and paves the way for future studies in this domain. This work employs a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based architecture to perform grapevine leaf image classification by adapting VGG-16 net and VGG-19 net models and subsequently identifying the optimal performer between the two nets during the classification process. A publicly available dataset comprising 500 images categorized into 5 distinct classes (100 images per class), was utilized in this work. The obtained empirical outcomes demonstrate a remarkable accuracy rate of 99.6% for the VGG-16 net model, while VGG-19 net achieves a 100% accuracy rate. Based on these findings, it can be inferred that VGG-19 net exhibits superior performance in classifying images of grapevine leaves compared to the VGG-16 net.</text>

<text>This study introduces a novel e-voting system utilizing blockchain technology to address the challenges inherent to traditional voting methods. Traditional systems often suffer from inaccuracies, susceptibility to manipulation, and elevated costs. Conversely, while e-voting shows potential, issues related to transparency and security have curbed its full adoption. Our research overcomes these hurdles by integrating a system developed through the Kanban methodology, with the blockchain serving as the central repository for all election data. This approach boosts transparency and security, using public-private key pairs for each transaction, and simplifying blockchain access. Organizers initiate elections and define eligible voters; this data is then securely moved to the Ethereum blockchain. Voters can effortlessly use the system, casting votes and accessing real-time, unalterable results. Various communication protocols ensure system stability, with simulated cyberattacks showcasing its security. After exhaustive testing and refinement, areas for further enhancement have been identified. This innovative system offers unmatched transparency and trust in the voting process, marking a considerable leap for trustworthy elections, especially in small to medium-sized settings.</text>

<text>Trojan Horse is a major threat that has grown with the spread of the digital world. Data gathered through the study of memory can provide valuable insights into the Trojan Horse’s behavior patterns. Because of this, memory analysis techniques are one of the topics that should be investigated in Trojan Horse detection. This study proposes the use of memory data in Trojan Horse detection. Trojan Horse detection used a decision tree (DT) classifier with memory data. Experiments were performed on the Trojan Horse samples from the CIC-MalMem-2022 dataset. The binary classification was made using DT, gradient boosted tree, Naive Bayes (NB), linear vector support machine, K-nearest neighbors (KNN), and machine learning (ML) classifiers. The comparison of the various classification methods was performed utilizing the accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-score metrics. As a result, the most successful Trojan Horse detection was gained with the DT classifier, which achieved accuracy of 99.96% using memory data. The NB classifier showed the lowest achievement in Trojan Horse detection using memory data, which achieved accuracy of 98.41%. In addition, numerous of the classifiers utilized have attained very high results. Based on the achieved results, the data from memory analysis is very valuable in detecting Trojan Horse.</text>

<text>One of the most significant limitations in wireless body area network (WBAN) is the requirement for low energy usage. For this reason, several routing techniques and protocols have been put out to provide an efficient means of energy saving during communication. In this work, we propose three approaches based on the formation of a chain of sensor nodes using a matrix of distances. The first approach is based on forming a single chain using the shortest distances. The second and the third consist in changing the position of the sink by forming a single cluster using the fuzzy C-means (FCM) method and the center of the latter constitutes the new position of the sink. In comparison to RE-ATTEMPT and PSOBAN, the third proposed chain-based approach has enabled a remarkable energy savings, which may have a big impact on the network’s entire lifespan.</text>

<text>Over time, there has been a continuous surge in the demand for electrical energy, necessitating the development of larger and more intricate electrical power networks. These extensive networks pose a significant challenge, primarily in the form of considerable loss of electrical energy, which, if not effectively addressed, may lead to persistent and imperceptible losses. In response to this challenge, this research proposes the application of quantum binary particle swarm optimization (QBPSO) for the coordinated management of on-load tap changers (OLTC) in loaded transformers within a distribution network, with a specific emphasis on reducing power losses. The experimental results demonstrate that the implementation of QBPSO results in a reduction of power loss from 21.756107 kW to 19.157321 kW and an increase in the average voltage from 19.00467941 kV to 19.93068 kV in a 20 kV 34-bus distribution network. This has the potential to significantly enhance overall system efficiency.</text>

The correspondents communicate through a trusted entity. An attacker can control the communication channels between the correspondents and the channels between the correspondents and the trusted authority (TA) and perform active attacks there, including a man-in-the-middle attack. DH authentication protocol using physically unclonable functions (PUF) is proposed. A formalized PUF model based on the class of universal hash functions is presented. Namely, it is proposed to use the class of strictly universal hash functions developed by Wegman and Carter. A polynomial dependence of the possible number of PPUs on the number of answers has been proven. Requirements for PPUs suitable for authentication systems are formulated. The protocol has been analyzed, and its security has been proved.</text>

<text>One of the mechanical energy harvesters, piezoelectric energy harvesters (PEHs), produces electricity in response to an external load, which leads to stress and strain in the cantilever beam. The study focused on performance PEH due to collisions between micro windmill blades and PEH substrate. The substrate has dimensions of 10 cm × 6 cm × 1 mm in length, width, and thickness, respectively. Experimental setup was in wind tunnel with a cross-section of 250 mm × 250 mm and blower to generated wind flow inside the tunnel. The wind speeds were set up at 6, 7, and 8 m/s, and then three ratios, namely 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3, were analyzed in output voltage and the deflection. The performance of energy harvesting in a ratio of 1:1 and wind speed of 8 m/s produces a deflection of 2.05 cm, the highest voltage of 12.67 volts, and an effective voltage of 5.62 volts. It was found that ratio 1:1 has a greater mass weight and cross-section than others, leading to more curvature in the PEH beam when the collision occurs. Besides that, the high speed of the micro windmill rotation causes collisions between the blades and PEH to become more frequent.</text>
