<text>Editorial boards play a critical role in steering journals on
their course to publish high-quality content meeting the needs

editorial boards in terms of gender, geography and country
income-level has received widespread attention [2, 3]. We
argue this diversity should also extend to levels of professional

<text>Objectives: Person-centeredness and patient experience are key components of high-quality health systems. The World Health Organization
defines seven domains of health system responsiveness, and there is a growing body of research that uses these domains as a proxy for
experiential quality.
Methods: We examined overall levels of responsiveness across the domains and across demographic and visit characteristics in Uganda. We also
explored the relationship between responsiveness and patient satisfaction, self-rated health outcomes, and trust. This study uses data from a
nationally-representative cross-sectional household survey conducted in Uganda in 2019. Respondents who had sought care in the last 6 months
were asked questions about responsiveness of care during their most recent visit. We compared demographic and visit characteristics in total
and between respondents within the highest and lowest responsiveness and also explored the distribution of the responsiveness index across
all responsiveness domains. Finally, we assessed the relationship between responsiveness quintiles and the highest rating of our outcomes
using Poisson regression. Our six outcomes fell within three categories: patient satisfaction, patient-reported health outcomes, and trust.
Results: Of the 4823 men and women surveyed, 2924 (60.6%) visited a healthcare facility in the last 6 months, and the total weighted study
sample of those who visited a healthcare facility was 2827. Respondents who reported high responsiveness were more likely to be wealthier,
urban dwellings, and with higher levels of education, and more likely to have greater access to care, to see the same provider at each visit, and
to have gone to a private facility. We found that respondents reporting higher responsiveness were significantly more likely to report the highest
rating on all six outcomes.
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that responsiveness is a central component of high-quality health systems and that efforts to improve health
outcomes must look beyond technical quality.</text>

<text>Objectives: This study aims to test the feasibility of a mixed outpatient/home physiotherapy programme on a sample of children with cerebral
palsy screened at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor in Gulu, Uganda from January to December 2017.
Methods: Improvement in motor function was investigated using the Gross Motor Function Measure 66-item version (GMFM-66, range: 0
to 100, the higher the score, the better the condition). Physiotherapy treatment and home exercise training for the caregivers of children
were carried out at baseline and then every 2 weeks for 3 months to follow. Changes in GMFM-66 score were collected in week six and
twelve.
Results: Patients who attended at least one of these visits were analysed. Fifty-five children aged 0.5–12 years were enrolled, 67% (37/55) were
lost at follow-ups. The eighteen participating children throughout the programme scored a median GMFM-66 score of 13.5 at baseline, 16.0 in
week six, and 19.7 in week twelve (P = 0.02).
Conclusions: This programme can lead to clinical improvement. Feasibility, however, depends on the accessibility of physiotherapy services
and on community-based interventions.</text>

<text>Today, in many countries, centres of excellence that can serve as a reference are determined in order to ensure easy access and quality
healthcare services for patients whose diagnosis and treatment require advanced expertise, trained health human resource, experience, and
high technology. Centres of excellence provide better health outcomes and equitable and easy access for patients. In addition, they provide very
important advantages such as improving the quality of health services and health outcomes at the country level by increasing the provision of
effective, efficient, high-quality health care services, increasing international competitiveness and health tourism potential in the field of health,
and reducing catastrophic health expenditures. In 2018, a series of studies were initiated in cooperation with the Turkey Health Services Quality
and Accreditation Institute and the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health to identify centres of excellence in Turkey. The aim of this manuscript
is to share the national implementation model that is being designed for Turkey for the studies of centers of excellence in health services.</text>

access to care and reduces delays in the health facility.
Methods: This study was a quality improvement project that set out to establish an obstetric triaging system in the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynaecology of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) starting in December 2016, and assess its impact primarily on the pre-implementation
waiting time of 4.2 h, 1 year on after implementation. The project was scheduled in phases which included training, development of an Obstetric
Emergency System, development of process maps, and reorganization of care, infrastructural works all culminating in the establishment of a
Triage System.
Results: Results from data collected 1 year on showed an average reduction in waiting time from 4.2 h (252 min) to an average of 138.8 min.
Conclusions: Triaging has helped to improve the timeliness and has added a patient-centered approach to care offered in the Obstetric
Emergency of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.</text>

<text>Background: Health-care facilities have used quality improvement (QI) methods extensively to improve quality of care. However, addressing
complex public health issues such as coronavirus disease 2019 and their underlying structural determinants requires community-level innovations
beyond health care. Building community organizations’ capacity to use QI methods is a promising approach to improving community health and
well-being.
Objectives: We explore how community health improvement has been defined in the literature, the extent to which community organizations
have knowledge and skill in QI and how communities have used QI to drive community-level improvements.
Methods: Per a published study protocol, we searched Scopus, Web of Science, and Proquest Health management for articles between
2000 and 2019 from USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. We included articles describing any QI intervention in a community setting to
improve community well-being. We screened, extracted, and synthesized data. We performed a quantitative tabulation and a thematic analysis
to summarize results.
Results: Thirty-two articles met inclusion criteria, with 31 set in the USA. QI approaches at the community level were the same as those used
in clinical settings, and many involved multifaceted interventions targeting chronic disease management or health promotion, especially among
minority and low-income communities. There was little discussion on how well these methods worked in community settings or whether they
required adaptations for use by community organizations. Moreover, decision-making authority over project design and implementation was
typically vested in organizations outside the community and did not contribute to strengthening the capability of community organizations to
undertake QI independently.
Conclusion: Most QI initiatives undertaken in communities are extensions of projects in health-care settings and are not led by community
residents. There is urgent need for additional research on whether community organizations can use these methods independently to tackle
complex public health problems that extend beyond health-care quality</text>
