                <text>Safety   Management   Systems   (SMS)   have emerged  as  essential  tools  for  managing  risk  and  improving operational safety across high-risk industries such as aviation, construction, oil and gas, and healthcare. This narrative review aims to evaluate how SMS are integrated and how effective they are  in  each  sector.  Using  a  structured  literature  search  across Scopus,  PubMed,  and  Google  Scholar,  studies  were  selected based    on    relevance,    peer-review    status,    and    sectoral applicability.  The  review  analyzes  qualitative  and  quantitative evidence   from   case   studies,   organizational   reports,   and empirical  research  across  the  targeted  industries.Findings reveal that sectors with centralized operations and international regulatory    oversight,   such    as    aviation    and    healthcare, experience greater success in SMS implementation, particularly in   incident   reporting   and   risk   mitigation.   In   contrast, construction  and  oil  and  gas  sectors  encounter  significant barriers, including fragmented project structures, human error prevalence,  and  limited  stakeholder  coordination.  Systemic factors   such   as   leadership   commitment,   safety   culture, workforce   training,   and   technology   integration   critically influence  the  success  of  SMS  across  all  sectors.The  study underscores  the  need  for  policy  reforms  and  sector-specific strategies  that  encourage  safety  innovation,  adaptability,  and workforce  participation.  Future  research  is  recommended  to explore   underreported   failures   and   apply   interdisciplinary frameworks that integrate behavioral insights. Enhancing SMS across sectors is vital to creating resilient, safe, and responsive operational   environments   in   a   rapidly   evolving   industrial landscape.</text>

                <text>Occupational risk  assessment  is central to ensuring workplace  safety,  particularly  amid  the  rapid  technological  and organizational     changes     characterizing     contemporary     work environments. This narrative review aims to examine and synthesize recent advancements in risk assessment models within occupational health  and  safety  (OHS)  frameworks.  A  comprehensive  literature search was conducted across databases including Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, focusing on studies published over the past decade. Inclusion criteria centered on empirical studies assessing the effectiveness, integration, and limitations of OHS risk models across high-risk sectors. The results reveal four key themes: the  incorporation  of  artificial  intelligence  (AI)  and  Internet  of Things  (IoT)  in  predictive  safety  systems;  the  efficacy  of  Safety Management   Systems   (SMS)   in   structuring   participatory   and proactive  safety  cultures;  the  effectiveness  of  dynamic,  real-time assessment frameworks in high-risk industries; and the influence of cultural, economic, and policy contexts on model adoption. These findings  highlight  a  notable  shift  toward  responsive,  data-driven, and  employee-centered  safety  models.  However,  systemic  barriers such as poor regulatory enforcement, limited awareness, and static theoretical frameworks hinder optimal implementation. The review advocates  for  policy  reforms,  employee  empowerment  strategies, and  adaptive  frameworks  that  reflect  technological  advancements and  context-specific  needs.  These  interventions are  essential  to overcoming  identified  barriers  and  improving  safety  outcomes globally.  Future  research  must  aim  to  bridge  theoretical  gaps  and enhance  the  generalizability  of  risk  assessment  frameworks  across diverse workplace environments. </text>

                <text>Ergonomic  interventions  and  human  factors engineering are essential components of occupational health strategies  aimed  at  reducing  musculoskeletal  disorders  and improving   worker   productivity.   This   narrative   review explores     recent advancements     and     challenges     in implementing    ergonomic    practices,    particularly    within manufacturing,    construction,    and    healthcare    sectors. Literature  was  systematically  sourced  from  major  databases including  PubMed,  Scopus,  and  Web  of  Science,  using keyword-based  search  strategies  and  strict  inclusion  criteria focused  on  real-world  applications.Findings  reveal  that technologies such as glove-based exoskeletons and sit-stand workstations significantly reduce physical strain and enhance user comfort. Active rest programs and workplace redesigns contribute to improved metabolic health, reduced sedentary behavior, and greater psychological well-being. Additionally, participatory  ergonomics  and  behavior-based  training  were shown to increase intervention acceptance and organizational compliance. However, widespread implementation is limited by  systemic  barriers  such  as  cultural  resistance,  financial constraints,  and  lack  of  institutional  support.The  study recommends    a    multifaceted,    evidence-based    approach integrating technology, education, and participatory design to optimize  ergonomic  outcomes.  Long-term  evaluation  and inclusive policy development are also emphasized to ensure sustainability.   These   findings   reinforce   the   need   for collaborative,   adaptive   strategies   that   prioritize   worker-centered design to build safer, healthier workplaces</text>
