Description
Background: Decubitus or pressure sores are wounds that occur in certain areas of skin and tissue
caused by bones that protrude due to pressure, friction, and or a combination thereof. One of the actions
taken to prevent decubitus is to transfer bedding. The application of bed shifting requires motivation
and compliance from a nurse. Objective: Knowing the relationship between motivation and compliance
of nurses to perform bed rest transfer in decubitus prevention in the room of Intensive Care Unit &
Acute Stroke Care Research method: The research design applied a correlation analytic method.
Sampling with total sampling, sampling taken from 33 nurses. Motivation questionnaire was applied as
its measuring instrument which was tested for the validity and reliability with 26 statements and a
checklist sheet for compliance with bed rest transfer in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Results: The results of the study with the Kendall Tau test with a p value < α, namely 0.015 < 0.05 and
a correlation coefficients value of 0.429. Conclusion: There is a relationship between motivation and
nurses' compliance with bed rest transfer in decubitus prevention in the Intensive Care Unit and Acute
Stroke Care Room September 2023 with a moderate level of closeness. Suggestion: The results of this
study should be a reference and input for further research related to motivation and compliance.
