PENERAPAN PIJAT EFFLURAGE MENGGUNAKAN MINYAK ZAITUN DALAM MENURUNKAN RISIKO PRESSURE ULCER PADA PASIEN STROKE NON HEMORAGIC
Subject
Non haemorrhagic stroke, Pressure ulcer, Efflleurage Massage, olive oil
Description
Background: He number of non-hemorrhagic stroke cases at Emanuel Hospital showed a high
preference, from January to October 2024 there were 390. Non-hemorrhagic stroke patients often
experience immobility which increases the risk of pressure sores, making it important to implement
preventive interventions such as effleurage massage with olive oil. Main Symptoms: The patient was
58 years old with a diagnosis of non-hemorrhagic stroke, had haemiparesis on the left side of the body,
aphasia, movement coordination difficulties. Blood pressure was high (160/100 mmHg), Braden scale
result showed high risk of pressure sores (score 10). Methods: This type of research is descriptive with
a case study design. The samples were non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. The intervention was
effleurage massage using olive oil against pressure sores. Measurement of pressure sore risk using
the Braden scale and periodic monitoring of the patient's skin condition. Results: After the application
of effleurage massage with olive oil for 6 days, the patient showed positive results. The previously
identified high risk of pressure sores decreased, which was noted on the post-intervention Braden
Scale measurement. Conclusion: The application of effleurage massage using olive oil is effective in
the treatment of stroke patients with limited mobility, helping to maintain skin integrity and prevent
further complications such as pressure sores. Suggestion: Patients can continue the intervention
independently with the help of family members and change body position every 2 hours.
