Description

The prevalence of anaemia among pregnant women at the health clinic was 17.57% (404), whereas ferrous
fumarate tablets were available at 100%. Game cards engage multiple senses, making them an efficient tool for
communicating health information in a real and participatory manner. The purpose of this study is to investigate
the impact of game card-based anaemia education on anaemia prevention behaviour in pregnant women at
Puskesmas Kretek Bantul in 2024. This study approach employs a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control
group design and a purposive sampling strategy, with 64 participants divided into two groups of 32 each. The
measuring instrument consisted of an 11-statement questionnaire, with results analysed using the Wilcoxon and
Mann-Whitney tests. The intervention and control groups' pretest results for anaemia prevention behaviour were
46.9% (32). The post-test with game card instruction resulted in a score of 100% (32) compared to 68.8% (32).
The intervention and control groups had a Wilcoxon test result of p = 0.000 (p-value < α). The Mann-Whitney
test yielded a p value of 0.000 (p-value < α). Game card-based anaemia education has a strong influence on
anaemia prevention behaviour among pregnant women at Puskesmas Kretek Bantul..
