THE EFFECT OF DISC MEDIA ON KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE FUNCTION OF THE REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN BENGKULU CITY

Puberty is a period of rapid growth and change in biological aspect both in shape and physiological conditions that affect physical conditions, attitudes, and behavior. The 2017 IDHS results showed 2.4% of female adolescents and 5.6% of boys were unable to mention the signs of puberty. The results of the 2011 RPJM survey showed that 3.1% of Bengkulu adolescents had sex before marriage. A total of 5.1% were carried out by male adolescents and 1% female adolescents. Disc media is a media that has a simple, clear, and easy-to-understand nature, therefore disc media can be informative and educative media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of disc media on the function of reproductive organs in junior high school students. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design with the control group and data collection that used a questionnaire. The population of this study was Bengkulu City Junior High School students who met the following inclusion criteria: willing to be respondents and aged 11-14 years so that 15 students were obtained as the intervention and 15 as the comparison group. Moreover, data analysis of this study with the following stages: univariate analysis, bivariate analysis of dependent T-test and independent T-test and Mancova test. The results showed there was an effect of disc media on knowledge about the function of reproductive organs in junior high school students (p = 0.01)
