Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the limited accessibility of health services, including health services for children under five years through the Posyandu. This condition can result in unmonitored growth and development and health of children, monitoring of nutritional problems, child weight, delayed immunization, administration of vitamin A, and can cause a spike in stunting rates. Stunting does not only have an impact on physical development in children but also on cognition. Monitoring the growth and development of toddlers during the pandemic can still be done by optimizing the role of health cadres in Posyandu services in adapting new norms. The existence of a Posyandu is very important in the community to suppress or reduce the incidence of stunting, monitor the growth and development of toddlers and detect high-risk pregnancies. However, the
implementation of Posyandu in adapting new norms is different from before the pandemic and must refer to local/regional government policies and apply health protocols strictly. Meanwhile, Posyandu cadres do not yet have the readiness to carry out routine Posyandu activities like when the pandemic had not yet taken place. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of cadres through refresher on posyandu management in adapting new norms. Posyandu's goal in the new norms can be achieved by implementing health protocols. The method applied in this community service activity is preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of this this community service activity showed that the health cadre knowledge increased by an average of 85.5. The results of the evaluation of the 8 existing posyandu, only 1 posyandu is ready to carry out its activities and 7 posyandu will be carried out starting January 2022
