Description

Many women experience pain during labor and delivery. The selection of methods to reduce labor pain can be done by pharmacological methods using drugs or non-pharmacological or traditionally. Meanwhile, non-pharmacological pain management can be carried out by most health care providers (doctors, nurses and midwives) who can involve the mother's family in labor. Another traditional method that can be used to reduce labor pain is using a gym ball or birth ball. Another method that is often used is the front effluerage massage, which is a massage technique in the form of gentle strokes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of pain adaptation in the first stage of the active phase using the Gym ball and front effleurage massage methods compared to controls. The research method is a quasi-experimental design with a three pre and post test design approach with a sample of 30 sampling techniques using incidental sampling.Research result showed a very significant level of significance on the adaptation of labor pain in
respondents who used Gym Ball with a significance level of 0.0001 and a different test showing the difference between Gym ball and front efleurega massage level. significant 0.018 multivariate obtained p value = 0.001, because p <0.005 it can be concluded that there are differences in pain scale between treatment groups.
