Subject

Moxibustion combination, acupressure, pain intensity

Description

Background Pain during labor is one of the factors that causes mothers to feel that giving birth is a painful and frightening event. where there will be pain caused by contraction of the uterine muscles in the visceral, pelvic and lumbar sacral areas. Non-pharmacological techniques that can reduce pain intensity are a combination of moxibustion and acupressure at the Li4 point. Objective: To analyze the combination of moxibustion and acupressure at the Li4 point on the intensity of labor pain in the first stage of the active phase of labor. Method : Quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest with Control Group Design. The sample of this study was the active phase I inpartu mother in the working area of the Manokwari General Hospital, West Papua. The research sample amounted to 42 respondents. Performed in the intervention and control groups for pain intensity using the Visual Analog Scale , Data analysis using the Mann Whitney test and Wilcoxon sign rank 5%. Results : There is an effect of the combination of moxibustion and acupressure on pain
intensity as assessed from a visual analogue scale sheet with p = 0.000. Conclusion: Giving a combination of moxibustion and acupressure at the Li4 point can reduce the intensity of pain in the first stage of labor.
