Subject

Caesarean section, acute pain, relaxation

Description

Cesarean section is a surgical delivery process by cutting the mother's abdomen to the uterus to deliver the baby. Cesarean section surgery results in tissue disconnection, resulting in pain problems. Nurses' autonomous actions can be taken to overcome these problems with pain
management, such as teaching deep breathing relaxation techniques. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain in post cesarean section patients. The research design uses case studies. The subject of the case
study was the patient post caesarean section on the first day. The data collection tool uses a postpartum assessment format. The results of the study were analyzed descriptively, the results obtained were patient 1 with P1A0, the level of pain on the first day with a scale of 8-9. After doing
relaxation techniques for three days the scale decreased to 5. Patient 2 with P3A0 pain level on the first day with a scale of 7 . After doing relaxation techniques for three days the scale decreased to 4.
Conclusion: deep breathing relaxation techniques can reduce severe to moderate pain. Suggestion: nurses on duty in the postpartum room need to apply autonomous action by teaching deep breathing relaxation techniques to post-cesarean section patients in fulfilling the need for comfort.
