Subject
food ordering frequency, BMI status, D3 midwifery health students
Description
Physical changes that occur in students from the first year they enter college until they have spent some
time studying often occur. Changes in BMI tend to increase from thin to normal, normal to overweight, and
even overweight to obese. Nilsen's study reported that 69% of urban residents in Indonesia consume fast
food, 33% said they eat lunch at a fast food restaurant, 25% said it was for dinner, 9% said it was a snack
and 2% chose to eat breakfast. This study aims to determine the frequency of online food orders on the BMI
status of D3 Midwifery Health Students in West Karawang District. This research uses a quantitative
descriptive method with an observational design. The research design used a cross-sectional design. This
research was carried out on D3 Midwifery Health Students in West Karawang District. The sample in this
study was 72. Based on the results of the Chi-square test, the p-value was 0.027 < 0.05, which means there
is a relationship between the frequency of online food orders and the BMI status of D3 Midwifery Health
Students in West Karawang District. A high frequency of food orders will have an impact on the BMI status
of D3 Midwifery Health students in West Karawang District. Therefore, midwifery students can control the
frequency of food orders so that they can prevent the BMI value from increasing. Future researchers can
develop research by considering variables that play a supporting role in conducting broader research
regarding the types of food that are usually ordered, with eating disorders such as binge eating which can
be linked to the nutritional status of adolescents.
