Description
Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a condition of recurrence of tuberculosis that
has been discontinued. Indonesia is the fifth country with the highest incidence of MDR-TB
globally. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of MDR-TB
in RSUD Jatisari Karawang in 2024. This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional
approach. The population in this study were patients at the MDR TB clinic who visited Jatisari
Hospital in January 2024, with a sample of 106 respondents taken using accidental sampling
technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data were processed
and analyzed using the t- test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship
between poor nutritional status (P = 0,000 < 0,05), drug compliance (P = 0,000 < 0,05), lack
of motivation (P = 0,000 < 0,05), family support (P = 0,000 < 0,05) and the role of drug
supervisors (P = 0,000 < 0,05) with the incidence of Multidrug Resistant (MDR TB). The
results of this study are expected to increase knowledge or insight into what factors can trigger
the occurrence of MDR TB and can make efforts to prevent the occurrence of MDR TB. Based
on this study, it is also hoped that MDR TB patients can carry out treatment regularly. For
further researchers, it is suggested that they can develop research with different variables
related to factors related to TB MDR.
