Description
Fever is the body's process of fighting infection with a body temperature above 37.5°C. Aloe vera
compress is a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce fever in children, containing Saponin and
Lignin substances that function to accelerate body heat dissipation. The research design used is a
quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach through applying a 5x15 cm Aloe vera
compress, peeled and washed with flowing water, and a pinch of salt to remove mucus, applied on the
forehead, armpits, or groin fold for 15 minutes. The intervention results in a decrease in body
temperature, with an average reduction of 0.9°C over three days. The recommendation for nurses is
that the alternative non-pharmacological intervention of Aloe vera compress can be used to lower body
temperature in hyperthermia.
