Description

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperclycemia in carbohydrate,
fat and protein metabolism caused by decreased insulin secretion or decreased insulin sensitivity
or both and causes complications, one of which is diabetic ulcers. Diabetic ulcers are infections,
ulcers and destruction of skin tissue on the feet of people with diabetes mellitus caused by nerve
abnormalities and damage to peripheral arteries. The approach used is a case report which aims
to explore and discuss cases of DM with diabetic ulcers. The main complaints found were pain in
the wound, swelling, pus and necrotic tissue. The nurse's independent action is to carry out wound
care to maintain wound cleanliness and tissue repair. The treatment carried out showed that the
wound was still wet, there was necrotic tissue, there was pus, the leg still looked swollen and red.
