Description
Backgraound : Impaction is a condition where teeth are prevented from growing to
their normal position. The action performed on clients who experience impaction is
surgery, this surgery is called odontectomy. The effects of odontectomy include
bleeding, swelling and pain. Main Symptoms: The client experiences swelling of the
cheek and gum pain after surgery. Therapeutic Intervention: Applying a cold compress
to reduce swelling and reduce the pain scale. Outcome: There was a decrease in
swelling and a decrease in the pain scale after being given a cold compress.
Conclusion: Giving a cold compress is a non-pharmacological action given to clients
after surgery to reduce swelling and reduce the pain scale.
