Description
Background: An initial study conducted through interviews on December 7-8, 2023 with five
participants from the Prolanis group at Puskesmas Ngawen II revealed that one of five participants
showed indications of mental health issues, reporting symptoms such as headaches, digestive problems,
fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep disorders, and anxiety over the past month. Objective: This study aims to
determine the mental health status of the Prolanis group at Puskesmas Ngawen II. Methods: This
research employed a descriptive research design. Ethical clearance was obtained on May 8, 2024,
under number 049/KEPK.02.01/V/2024. The population was Prolanis participants. The sample was 61
respondents selected through the accidental sampling technique. Results: Among 61 respondents,
14.75% exhibited mental health issues, all of whom were female. The age group most affected by mental
health problems was 56-65 years with 8.2%, with housewives representing 6.6%, primary school
education with 6.6% and Prolanis members ≤ 5 years as much as 8.2%. Conclusion: The overall mental
health status of Prolanis participants at Puskesmas Ngawen II with 85.25% classified as mentally
healthy and 14.75% experiencing mental health issues. Among hypertensive Prolanis participants,
12.5% of 32 respondents reported mental health problems, while 17.2% of 29 respondents with diabetes
mellitus experienced similar issues.
