Subject
cervical cancer; early detection; inspection visual with acetic acid
Description
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer with the second largest number of sufferers after breast cancer found in women in Indonesia. Nearly 50% of cervical cancer sufferers end in death. This happens as a result of the lack of public awareness to carry out early detection of cervical cancer. Early detection is not carried out so that most cervical cancer patients are known after being in an advanced stage. Various efforts can be made to detect cervical cancer with an easy and inexpensive method, namely the Inspection Visual with Acetic Acid (IVA)-Test. Early detection is expected to reduce the risk and death from cervical cancer. The objective of this study are describes the results of early detection of cervical cancer using the inspection visual with acetic acid method in women of childbearing age in Magelang City. This study is a descriptive study with research subjects selected by purposive sampling. The data
collection technique was by performing an IVA-test on all research subjects. The results obtained from 93 respondents who were examined were 92 respondents (98,92%) were declared negative and 1 respondent (1,08%) was positive. Respondents who tested positive were then given cryotherapy
