Description
The number of people with mental disorders continues to increase. Based on the results of an early detection, data obtained in the Mental Health Alert Village of North Magelang, it was found that a number of 299 residents were included in the category at risk of mental disorders, they experienced stress and life pressure due to various psychosocial problems. One of the interventions that can reduce stress levels is the application of problem solving focused coping skills. Based on this, community service is carried out to help the community have effective coping skills. The methods and strategies used are through training, mentoring and evaluation & monitoring activities. Participants filled out a questionnaire from Lazarus to find out their coping strategies and measured stress levels before and after participating in the training using the DSSA 42 instrument. The results showed a change or decrease in stress levels as evidenced by changes in the average pre-test score of 30.8 to an average of 17.6 post-test. These results are relevant to the results of research that problem solving coping methods are effective in reducing
