Subject

Description
Insomnia is a condition that involves complaints of dissatisfaction with the quality or duration of sleep and followed by difficulty initiating sleep at bedtime. The prevalence of insomnia in the world is high. 30-35% of people in the world experience insomnia. The long-term impact of insomnia will worsen the condition of someone who has experienced stress and eventually experiences acute depression, increasing the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and even death. Insomnia should be treated immediately. This paper aimed to review and analyze the literature
on the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in psychiatric nursing therapy. The methods of this literature review focused on selected articles from online databases as data for this study. This research used eligible articles that were already assessed by critical rating to determine the quality of the article that is relevant to the Medical Subject Heading and Framework keywords. The result from six of the six articles shows that Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia as a non-pharmacological therapy is effective in treating and reducing the symptoms of insomnia patients even though they have not used medication.
