EFFECT OF SWEET CORN (ZEA MAYS L) ON TRIGLYSERIDA LEVELS BASED ON ADULT NUTRITIONAL STATUS

Subject

Description

High Trigliserida levels in the blood are a severe problem because they are risk factors for various diseases. High Trigliserida levels can be treated in traditional or herbal ways, for example, with sweet corn. This study was to find out the effect of corn boiled water on trigliserida in the selected area In Indonesia.Research used a quasiexperimental with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group. The samples were 60 divided into 20 control, 20 intervention with normal BMI, and 20 intervention with excessive nutritional status. Trigliserida examination was carried out in the laboratory by taking fasting venous blood. The instruments are SOP and observation sheets. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. Bivariate analysis is Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney. The intervention group 1 showed a decrease in triglycerides 30.08 g/dl. The intervention group 2 showed a decrease in Triglycerides 101.6 g/dl. The control group showed a decrease in triglycerides 11.52 g/dl. There was no significant difference in Triglyceride pretest-posttest control group, p=0.568. There was a significant difference in pretest-posttest Triglycerides in the intervention group 1,p = 0.037 and in the intervention group 2 p = 0.000 .Whole corn boiled water effectively lowers Trigliserida in people with normal nutritional status and over nutritional status.
