Description
Background: Stroke is non-communicable diseases that occurs due to blockage or rupture
of blood vessels in the brain. Symptoms of stroke often appear weakness muscle strength
and treatment is needed to prevent muscle contractures. Handling can be provided with
active Range Of Motion (ROM) spherical grip exercises. In The ICU 2 of Yogyakarta
Private Hospital, 10 patients had non-hemorrhagic strokes, the majority of whom had
muscle weakness. Objective: Provide an overview and improve nursing care in the Active
Range Of Motion (ROM) Asistive Spherical Grip action to increase upper extremity muscle
strength with impaired physical mobility in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients in The ICU
2 of a Private Hospital in Yogyakarta. Results: After the active range of motion (ROM)
Asistive Spherical Grip on Mr. M (71 years) obtained a score of 4 to 1, the intervention
could not be continued because the results of the re-examination of the patient's MSCT
Head contained cerebri atrophy and lacunar infarction on the pons. Conclusion: The
Range Of Motion (ROM) Active Assistive Spherical Grip cannot be continued because the
patient has decreased muscle strength. Suggestion: Researchers can then add nursing
interventions related to the condition of patients who experience upper extremity weakness
with muscle strength scores below 3 as additional further references.
