Description
Background:Diarrhea is a common disease that causes a mortality rate of 3.5% in 2022 and can cause various
serious complications. At UPT Puskesmas Tempel II, diarrhea ranks 5th in the top 10 diseases, increasing cases
from 432 in 2022 to 550 in 2024, community participation in the control program is still low. Objective:To
determine the relationship between PHBS and diarrhea prevention behavior in the Batang Gede Tambakrejo
Tempel area in 2024. Method:Analytical research with a cross-sectional approach to this study to avoid bias from
the results of PHBS measurements on diarrhea prevention behavior so that data is taken simultaneously to
minimize inaccuracies in research results. Research Results:The largest age category is late adulthood with 11
people(34.4%),Female gender with 17 people(53.1%),Last education high school/vocational high school 25
people (78.1%), Private employees 14 people (43.8%), The largest marital status is married with 26 people
(81.3%). PHBS with the largest percentage is Good with 17 people (53.1%), Diarrhea prevention behavior with
the largest percentage is Sufficient with 16 people(50.0%),There is a significant relationship between the PHBS
variable (clean and healthy living behavior) and diarrhea prevention behavior with a significance value (Sig. 2-
tailed) of 0.042.The correlation coefficient between PHBS and Diarrhea Prevention Behavior is 0.362, with a
significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.042.Indicates that there is a positive correlation that is sufficient but
significant between the two variables. Conclusion:The correlation coefficient between PHBS and Diarrhea
Prevention Behavior shows that there is a positive correlation that is sufficient but significant between the two
variables.Suggestion:The community needs to participate and invite families to be active in health programs and
the implementation of PHBS through education using social media and posters to disseminate information to
reduce the risk of spreading disease.
