Description
The COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) pandemic in 2020 forces the government to shift offline learning in schools to online learning to reduce the spread of the virus. Learning activity from elementary schools until higher education is carried out using internet-based media (tools) such as Zoom, Google Classroom, various types of Learning Management Systems (LMS), and many others. No different from daily teaching and learning activities, the assessment process which is one of the stages in a series of learning processes is required to use online-based assessment tools. The use of the CBT application to take online exams is an alternative that is in demand by teachers. However, many CBTs do not provide online proctoring. The use of a web camera (webcam) is one way to carry out this online surveillance, for example through the Zoom application. Monitoring using video in real time like this has a weakness, namely the availability of internet quota on the side of the test takers (students). In addition, the use of bandwidth for video transmission can disrupt the stability of the exam itself which should be a top priority. This paper provides an alternative solution for the implementation of online exam supervision without using video transmission, thereby minimizing bandwidth and internet quota on the part of the examinees. The technique used is to replace the video with sequential images recorded by the client browser and periodically sent to the test server.
