Indonesia merupakan negara yang memiliki berbagai jenis sumber daya energi dalam jumlah yang cukup melimpah. Letak Indonesia berada pada daerah katulistiwa, maka wilayah Indonesia akan selalu disinari matahari selama 10 sampai dengan 12 jam dalam sehari. Indonesia sebagai negara tropis memiliki potensi pengembangan dan pemanfaatan energi surya sebagai salah satu dari banyak sistem konversi energi surya, sistem konversi energi surya ini dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi semakin menipisnya cadangan bahan bakar konvensional yang ada. Permasalahan yang dihadapi di setiap sekolah adalah pasokan listrik saat jam sekolah maupun malam hari. Pasokan listrik yang belum cukup untuk penerangan sehingga menghambat kegiatan belajar. Dana yang tidak memadai juga sebagai kendala pemerintah setempat untuk mengembangkan fasilitas umum. Karena energi listrik merupakan faktor utama keberlangsungan kegiatan belajar mengajar di sekolah tersebut. Untuk memecahkan masalah yang ada dapat memanfaatkan solar panel untuk menghasilkan listrik. Dilihat dari segi ekonomi, solar panel mampu menghemat pasokan listrik secara maksimal.
Indonesia is a country that has quite an abundance of various types of energy resources. The location of Indonesia is on the equator, so the Indonesian territory will always be exposed to the sun for 10 to 12 hours a day. Indonesia as a tropical country has the potential for developing and utilizing solar energy as one of the many solar energy conversion systems, this solar energy conversion system can be applied to overcome the depletion of existing conventional fuel reserves. The problem faced in each school is the supply of electricity during school hours and at night. Insufficient electricity supply for lighting, thus hampering learning activities. Inadequate funds are also an obstacle for the local government to develop public facilities. Because electrical energy is a major factor in the sustainability of teaching and learning activities at the school. To solve the problem, it can be used solar panels to generate electricity. From an economic point of view, solar panels are able to save maximum electricity supply.
