DIFFERENCES OF MOSQUITO Anopheles sp. RESISTANCE STATUS IN THE APPLICATION AND NON-APPLICATION AREA OF INDOOR RESIDUAL SPRAYING (IRS) IN PURWOREJO REGENCY

Subject

Resistensi, Anopheles sp., lamda-cyhalothrin, bendiocarb

Description

Malaria vector control can be disrupted by the presence of resistance to insecticides in the vector population. The use of insecticides lamda-cyhalothrin (Icon 100 CS) and bendiocarb (Ficam 80 WP) has been used for quite a long time in Purworejo Regency. The use of insecticides for more than 2 years can trigger the development of resistance.
Resistance can be passed down from generation to generation and is expanding throughout the region. The survey aimed to find differences in resistance status in the area of application of spray insecticide residue (IRS) with the area of non-application (Non IRS). Tests for estimating resistance using CDC Botol Assai with samples of directly caught Anopheles sp mosquitoes. The study showed that in Kaliharjo Village (IRS area) it was resistant to insecticides lambda-cyhalothrin (Icon 100 CS) dose 12.5 μg and bendiocarb (Ficam 80 WP) dose 12.5 μg, while in Plipir Village (Non IRS area) it was suspected to be resistant. against 2 types of insecticides and the analysis of the difference in resistance status showed no difference. The absence of differences in resistance status was caused by the proximity of the area (< 2 km) and the development of resistance mosquitoes in the Anopheles population.
