DIFFERENCE IN RESISTANCE OF Anopheles sp MOSQUITOES TO INSECTICIDES LAMBDA CYHALOTHRIN AND BENDIOCARB IN BANJARNEGARA REGENCY

Subject

Resistensi, Anopheles sp., lamda-cyhalothrin, bendiocarb

Description

Insecticide resistance to malaria vectors threatens malaria prevention and control efforts. There have been widely reported conditions of Anopheles mosquito resistance to this type of insecticide in various
regions and countries. However, monitoring of insecticide resistance is not continuous, and resistance data is still limited. The purpose of the study was to find out the difference in resistance status in the types of insecticides lambda-cyhalothrin and bendiocarb with the implementation carried out in the area of treatment of insecticide spraying and areas that have not been sprayed insecticides. Resistance testing was conducted by the CDC Bottle Bioassay method to measure the death of Anopheles
mosquitoes against lambda-cyhalothrin (Icon 100 CS) insecticides 12.5 μg and bendiocarb (Ficam 80 WP) 12.5 μg. The results provide evidence of no difference in the use of lambda-cyhalothrin (Icon 100 CS) 12.5 μg and bendiocarb (Ficam 80 WP) 12.5 μg insecticides in areas that have been carried out and have not been sprayed with insecticide tests. This allows for the occurrence of constraints on controlling adult Anopheles mosquitoes in the future because the nature of resistance can be lowered, so it is necessary to rotate the use of other insecticides with a different killing power from previous insecticides.
