Description
The problem of stunting is a condition of failure to thrive due to chronic malnutrition, which occurs since the baby is in the womb. In order to overcome this problem, it is necessary to use education through information technology systems, namely smartphones. The use of android smartphones as an effort is to increase knowledge, about stunting prevention and the health of pregnant and lactating women. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of giving the Gemas application about stunting prevention for increasing knowledge of health pregnant mother. The research method used was experimental with control group pretest and posttest design. The study was carried out in the area of Puskesmas 2 Sokaraja which is one of the villages with stunting problems in Banyumas Regency. The study period was 3 months in 2021. The population in this study was all pregnant women in the work
area of Puskesmas 2 Sokaraja, Banyumas Regency, totaling 178 pregnant women as of March 2021. The sample in this study were pregnant women who met the research criteria, located in the area Puskesmas 2 Sokaraja, has an Android-based Smartphone and is willing to be a respondent. The total sample of 40 respondents was divided into the intervention and control groups, each of which was 20 respondents. Random sampling technique was used in this study. The questionnaire used to measure knowledge about stunting prevention and stunting prevention attitudes, measuring tape, blood pressure meter, smart phone. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The statistical test used is
the Paired-samples t test. The results of this study showed that there was a change in the knowledge of respondents in the significant category where the significance value is < 0.05, so that it can be interpreted
that statistically there are differences in the knowledge of mothers before and after treatment in both the intervention and control groups. Therefore, the using media that is bases on smartphone can be used
to increase knowledge of pregnant women health because it is more practical, easy to access and almost everyone currently has these devices.
